Chicago is home to some of the nation’s most prominent teaching hospitals active in cutting edge research that brings new understanding and treatments to the field of vision and eye care. ISPB awards start-up grants to encourage more vision professionals to conduct research in their area of interest.

Attention: ISPB has revised the due date for the 2010 Research Seed Grants to accommodate the 2010 OKAP Exam.

Complete applications must be at the ISPB office by 12:00 noon, April 22, 2010.

Illinois Sight for Life

Help adults understand the critical need to proactively protect their vision.

This certified training prepares volunteers and professionals to give presentations or informal sessions on vision health and safety and to conduct vision assessments. The materials are ideal for outreach programs, health fairs, workplace presentations and clinical settings.

The Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness (ISPB) annually awards grants to support research in eye and vision health. Priority is given to newer investigators including medical and optometric students, residents, fellows, assistant professors and junior faculty.
