“Talking” ATMs Installed by Bank One Corporation

Since April of 2001, Bank One Corporation has installed 131 audio-assisted ATMs in the United States, with 40 of them being located in Illinois. These machines are helping visually impaired customers complete their banking transactions.

Bank One banking center locations that feature this new technology will have earphones available, and Bank One employees will help customers get acquainted. To use a “talking” ATM, you plug a standard set of earphones into the machine and a recording will assist you step-by-step through the transaction.

For more information about Bank One’s “talking” ATM program call 1+877+241-8665 — touch 1 for available locations; touch 2 for ordering earphones free of charge (Sources: Bank One News Release, April 25, 2001; Bank One Internal/External Communications, Chicago, April 2002).
