ISPB Board Elects Two New Members; Officers Installed

Mark D. Esarey, O.D. and Lisa F. Rosenberg, M.D. have been elected to the board of directors of the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness. Both will serve a one-year term.

Mark Esarey, past president of the Illinois Optometric Association (IOA), is in private practice, full-scope optometry in Charleston, Ill. He is currently on the Public Policy and Legislative Committee of the Illinois Rural Health Association. Dr. Esarey has been a recipient of the American Optometric Association (AOA) Recognition Award from 1996 through 2002.

Lisa Rosenberg, immediate past president of the Chicago Ophthalmological Society, continues the tradition of serving a one-year term on the ISPB Board of Directors. She is Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Northwestern University and has offices in Chicago. Dr. Rosenberg has received numerous research awards and she is a member of a number of groups including the Chicago Glaucoma Society, American Glaucoma Society and Women in Ophthalmology.

The new slate of officers for fiscal 2001-2002 includes: Leslee Williams, President; Wesley E. Bass, Jr. and Walter M. Jay, M.D., Vice Presidents; Thomas S. Bridges, Treasurer; Burton W. Hales, Jr., Secretary.

The board members re-elected at the annual meeting include: Beverly Susler Parkhurst, William P. White III (for a three-year term); Wesley E. Bass, Jr., Burton W. Hales, Jr., Marilyn T. Miller, M.D. (for a two-year term); Jonathan B. Rubenstein, M.D. (for a one-year term).

Other members of the board include: Peter J. Latz, Robert P. Schroeder, M.D., Charles M. Vygantas, M.D., David M. Webster, and John M. Wolfe.
