2003 ISPB LECTURESHIP

Illinois Optometric Association (IOA)

During the Illinois Optometric Association Convention 2003, held in Itasca, Ill., October  9-12, 2003, the ISPB was proud to honor Eric Schmidt, O.D., with its 2003 Distinguished Lecturer Series Award.

With the collaboration of the IOA, the ISPB Lectureship Series and Dr. Schmidt’s interactive education course on  “Ocular Disease Update 12003,” this program was considered the largest continuing educational course for optometry in the country. 

Dr. Schmidt is President of Bladen Eye Center at Elizabethtown, N.C.  He lectures frequently on aspects of ocular disease and is a columnist for the Southern Journal of Optometry.  Dr. Schmidt is also a frequent contributor to Review of Optometry and Primary Care Optometry News. 

A graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and post-graduate residency at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Dr. Schmidt holds faculty appointments at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and the University of Houston
