LOW VISION IDEAS FOR YOUR HOME:
- Check with local utility company for large-print thermostat
attachments.
- Replace wall socket covers and light-switch covers with ones that
contrast in color to the wall.
- Use a contrasting color toilet seat cover so it is obvious whether
the lid is up or down.
- Use clear containers for condiments of salt and pepper.
Change an opaque or
solid colored shower curtain with a clear plastic one to allow more light
into the shower area.
- Use a lighted magnifying mirror for applying cosmetics or for face
shaving.
- Use a large print or large Braille-marked calendar in you kitchen,
den or family room to keep track of activities, doctor appointments,
meetings.
- Hang a small color contrasting hook near the kitchen sink to hold
rings, watches or other jewelry while washing, cleaning or cooking.
