Community Health Charities Brings
Important Funds to ISPB

The Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness has shared a long history with Community Health Charities of Illinois (CHC/IL). The ISPB is a founding member of Community Health Charities, which is the largest workplace giving program dedicated solely to health causes. The ISPB joins 37 other health agencies in raising funds for medical research, health education and patient services. Over the past five years CHC has contributed over $80,000 in donations to ISPB.

Community Health Charities allows workplace employees to support ISPB and 37 other health agencies directly through their paycheck. Workplace giving is the most effective and efficient method of fundraising and usually results in donations that are 4 to 6 times higher than one-time gifts. Community Health Charities promotes the mission of ISPB in corporations, as well as state and local governmental entities across Illinois. The long-standing partnership between ISPB and CHC grows stronger with every year.

As the fall campaign season approaches, ISPB
and CHC encourage you to remember ISPB in your employer’s workplace giving campaign. If you work for an employer that offers a Community Health Charities campaign, you can designate your gift to ISPB by using the code number 5554.

The ISPB staff designed and donated the above centerpiece for the Combined Federal Campaign Kick-off Breakfast in Chicago on September 9, 2004.  More than 500 federal    employees were in attendance.

If your employer offers a United Way only campaign, you can write-in Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness on your pledge form through their Donor Choice Options. Speak to your Human Resources representative for specific instruction on where to indicate your choice.
If your employer does not offer you any way to support charity at work, we encourage you to consider approaching your employer about implementing a workplace giving campaign. Community Health Charities is available to assist you with making this approach and will create a customized plan for your employer.

For more information or to start a campaign, please contact the ISPB at (312) 922-8710 or the Community Health Charities of Illinois at
(312) 939-6275 (Source: CHC/IL).
