ISPB Supports VISION FOR
HUMANITY of Central Illinois

The ISPB is proud to support the VISION FOR HUMANITY of Central Illinois. The program provides vision examinations and eyeglasses for economically disadvantaged men, women and children.

The Catholic Charities Community Services in Springfield registers and screens applicants and administers the coordination of the clinics. Twelve optometrists and five ophthalmologists support this special program.

From January 1 through December 31, 2003, 1,449 of the 1,515 eligible registered participants were provided with eyeglasses. During this time, 46 percent of those served were children. The ISPB will help to supplement payment for the lens grinding expenses incurred.
